“Bah! What the hell was that dream?! I was a girly cat named Miti, and I got taken over by a cursed suit?! Ugh… My life gets stranger every day… I wonder if Mister Tuna had a similar dream…”

In one small apartment building in the developed Central Continent’s capital, a short and toned white cat with scruffy white hair, black scleras, and light blue irises awoke in a cold sweat, having dreamt of being possessed by a lewd latex suit and purposefully succumbing to a tentacle monster. Their name is Mighty, the current Shadow Paragon of the modern day whose task was general peacekeeping between mortals and spirits. But on top of that, Mighty was also dealing with the reputation of shadow magic due to its ties to evil thanks to its ability to be cunning and inconspicuous in the hands of criminals.

To start, Elemental Paragons, like Mighty, are the chosen ones of Elemental Gods who embody magic elements like earth, wind, and fire. They are usually sought by Elemental Gods due to their affinity to their respective elements and good nature, leading them to be blessed with magic trinkets that give them power, which usually take the form of a small charm like a necklace or ring. However, not all Elemental Paragons used their blessings for good, with the first Shadow Paragon being the first instance of one going rogue.

Long before the capitals of the world’s continents even built their first towns, Elemental Gods were already seeking candidates to uphold peace upon the lands. For the deserts and oases of the Southern Continent, the Wind God had their Wind Paragon, the candidate of which was the father of a large desert cat family who eventually settled down at a seaside fishing village and so on and so forth. Elemental Gods found their own candidates and so did the Shadow God to bring peace upon the Central Continent despite the early negative reputation surrounding them.

Unfortunately, they had picked a candidate who used their powers for evil instead, using their unstoppable shadow magic to conquer kingdoms by conjuring shadowy monsters and colossal tentacles. The Shadow God rescinded their blessing, but the first Shadow Paragon had already gotten too strong. Other Elemental Gods saw this disaster and swiftly brought forward a new candidate to become the Shadow Paragon to defeat the old one. The candidate was the mother of a small white cat family who were shunned for their unusual affinity to shadow magic.

She was the perfect vessel for the Shadow God’s power, and with a little bit of convincing, the mother took up the mantle and managed to defeat the first Shadow Paragon in a battle that caused a quarter of the Central Continent to be shrouded in darkness for an entire day. In the end, the reign of terror of the first paragon ended but with their actions came the stigmatization of shadow magic. From then on until the present day, the white cat family, now named the Balanced Cats, worked to improve the reputation of shadow magic by advocating that magic didn’t kill people but that people killed people along with general acceptance between magic and non-magic users.

“I wonder if Mister Stanley has some fresh pies for me… And coffee… Ahhh… I want to get to the café already…”

Dismissing the odd dream as nothing more than the loss of sleep due to his studious efforts of reading law books for his eventual running as a political candidate in the capital, Mighty got ready for the day with a disciplined workout routine. With a piece of toast in his mouth, Mighty exercises by performing bench presses, shoulder presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions, leg raises, and a variety of crunches. After resting, he takes a heated shower powered by putting a small fire crystal in a small opening in his shower head and has breakfast. And while having his breakfast, which was two delicious strips of bacon and fried egg, Mighty immediately returns to reading to make the most of his time.

Mighty doesn’t eat a lot, saving his stomach for his eventual trip to the café down the road. Once finished with his meal and the dishes, Mighty prepares to head out, draping his black cowl with white lining over his shoulders and holstering his black rapier named Erebus, a family heirloom with the ability to suck the life force out of its target when infused with magic. With his weapon on his hip and his pouch of coins secured tight, Mighty heads for the café to get his usual second meal of a slice of apple pie with a cup of coffee.

“Hello, Mister Stanley! The usual, please!”

“Ah, Mighty, there you are. You’re looking pristine as usual. Do you still love to flaunt your muscles? I never see you outside your shorts and cowl. But I must say your physique could easily catch the eyes of pretty ladies~ Because you know who wouldn’t want a short 5’4” king like you?”

“Hehe! You flatter me too much! I-It’s just that… It’s… err… my most abundant clothing? I know it doesn’t offer me much protection, but it's flexible and light, and with my height, I focus more on dodging.”

“Really? Where could you get such finely sewn shorts and cowl in bulk? I swear those must cost at least five gold coins each. And it’s probably enchanted too!”

“It is enchanted! Specifically, it has been enchanted to be soft when held and hard when struck. And for the price… Let’s just say someone really likes me and made me an entire wardrobe of cowls and shorts…”

Stanley, the glasses-wearing brown dog with a dad bod barista, quickly served up Mighty’s usual second meal after giving thought to the cat’s everyday clothing which Mighty unfortunately had to deflect. Because if Stanley or any of Mighty’s friends found out where he got his clothes, they might get a little jealous. Being an aspiring candidate for a political position in the Central Continent’s capital, Mighty made sure to make lots of friends. His family, the Balanced Cats, were known to be charitable despite receiving frequent discrimination for their shadow magic which only inspired others to support Mighty. Also, Mighty was the eldest and only son of the current generation’s only daughters while also being 30 years old.

From citizens to adventurers and from friendly monsters to ancient dragons, Mighty has been garnering the support of people from all walks of life to support him. And so far, with his kind, courageous, and upstanding nature, traits common to almost all paragons, along with his professional and persuasive way of speaking once he was on a podium, Mighty had a sure shot of winning a legislative seat to promote racial equality between humans, beasts, and intelligent monsters. But for now, those problems could wait, as it was still months before Mighty needed to prepare for the election and looked to focus on the duties before him.

“Ahh… Sweet cinnamon and milky coffee… Thank you again, mister Stanley!”

“Come again any time, my boy! I’ll send you any leftover pies by the end of the day!”

At the moment, Mighty’s agenda was to simply enjoy the day and wait for any signs that the Shadow God might need him. He had already worked enough adventuring jobs to relax for a few days as well as to make sure all the papers he needed when he signed up for candidacy were in order. Mighty thought about reading some more, but he had already spent last night doing just that. But as Mighty took a stroll around the busy streets, he remembered that the library was about to stock new material, specifically a new form of media called comics and manga. Before, there were only picture books for children and novels for adults.

With the somewhat recent invention of the printing press and the speedy developments through the integration of magic, the production of printed material by independent artists, authors, and teams has spread worldwide. And thanks to this, many folks can purchase cheap entertainment, including Mighty. When comics and manga first debuted in limited quantities, Mighty and many others fought tooth and nail for the eye-catching pieces of literature. But now, there was no need for that. However, there are still times when a popular author’s work gets sold out within just minutes of a stock’s arrival so Mighty cheats a little and uses his shadow magic to snatch a copy for himself to purchase later.

“Yes! I’m just in time! There are still some copies of the hero artist Valor’s new manga!”

Arriving in front of the capital’s library, Mighty is met with the familiar stalls of comic and manga vendors with some new authors making their debuts as well. First and foremost, Mighty snatched a copy of the artist hero’s new work before sampling some new releases. By noon, Mighty has a full paper bag of things to entertain himself with back home, happily skimming through each material to see which one he would read first. But since It was still noon, Mighty decided to stop by the local adventuring guild which was also the biggest in the land as it was located in the capital of the biggest continent, of course.

“I wonder what’s in store for everyone today… Thunder slimes, undead animals, and living plants… Oh! Sir Tuna is here! Hello, sir!”

“Oh! Mighty! What’s going on, buddy? What do you have there?”

“This? Oh, just a few books~ What are you up to today, my good friend?”

A few tables away from the questing board, Mighty finds his acquaintance Tuna, a tall and muscular blue sea dragon with flowing white hair and tribal seaside attire. Tuna would be one of the more magical folks that Mighty had befriended as Tuna was actually a huge sea serpent living by the sea from the east of the capital. Taking this opportunity as the perfect time to share his interests, Mighty sat with Tuna to talk about a new manga he was interested in which was about a normal boy who was cursed by a thunder spirit and could now run really fast with his new telekinetic girlfriend.

It was a fine afternoon from then on and despite Tuna being a middle-aged sea serpent, he had also grown fond of mortal literature and read some of the comics Mighty had bought. Mighty had other friends who shared the same interest, of course, but he also liked to talk to Tuna about his experience as a sea serpent who had lived for centuries. It wasn’t all about retelling the past but also a conversation about monsters and how to fight them. Unfortunately, just as Tuna was about to regale a tale about a red dragon golem with a slimy interior, Mighty’s paragon charm, a silver skull necklace, pulsed with a spine-chilling energy that made Tuna flinch.

“W-Woah… What was that sensation? It felt like the atmosphere became heavier…”

“Oh! I’m so sorry, Mister Tuna! I-it seems my master is calling me! You can keep that comic book for now! I’ll have to go now! Goodbye!”

“Mighty! Damn… Must be his god calling him or something. Welp, I guess I’ll just slip this under his door later.”

Rushing out of the guild before his charm pulsed another wave of debilitating energy, Mighty swiftly ran back home where nobody could be affected by the charm’s aura, zipping through the streets and weaving the crowds before eventually scaling his apartment building with shadowy whips instead of taking the stairs. Slipping through a window he intentionally left open, Mighty quickly made his way to his living room, snatched a pack of candles, and drew the curtains to darken the room. Mighty immediately lit and arranged the candles in a star shape and placed his pulsing charm in the middle, just in time for the trinket to release another wave of frightful aura.

With that third release of energy, the candles blow out, leaving Mighty in the darkness. But Mighty isn’t afraid as this was routine already. Time stood still, the blowing curtains freezing still as all color drained from the surrounding area. The shadows of the frozen living room also began to stretch and grow, becoming wavy tendrils and tentacles that surrounded the couch Mighty was sitting on until the white light of the monotone sun became no more. Only a faint glow surrounded Mighty as if he was in the spotlight which would be an accurate comparison to what was about to happen next.

“HELLO, MY DEAR SHADOW-TOUCHED CHILD. IT IS ONCE AGAIN A JOYOUS OCCASION TO MEET WITH YOU. HAS MY KITTEN BEEN WELL? ARE THERE ANY BLESSINGS YOU WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST?”

“N-Not at all, master! I am perfectly content with your presence!”

Just as the room turned into a void, Mighty prostrated himself before the Shadow God arrived. They were a giant figure but were only made up of two coal-black hands and a featureless head of a goat beast. Despite their lack of a mouth they could communicate, very loudly with a voice that was a frightening mix of male and female voices as well. The god’s voice reverberated through Mighty’s entire being, easily putting anyone on their hands and knees. But of course, Mighty has already met the god multiple times and was only bowing in respect.

“STAND UP, MY CHILD. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF ME. NOBODY SHOULD BE AFRAID OF US, REMEMBER?”

“Y-Yes, master… I was just showing respect… A-Anyways, how can I be of use to you, my master?”

“KITTEN, KITTEN, KITTEN. YOU ARE ALREADY SO TENSE. HERE, LET ME GIVE YOU SOME LOVING.”

“L-Loving? Wait!”

Before Mighty could react, the god’s giant hands scooped him up from where he stood and nuzzled against him. Most common depictions of the Shadow God described them as a malevolent goat beast who ate children and razed kingdoms. But in reality, they were nice and cuddly, and frequently spoiled Mighty with their blessings. In fact, the Shadow God was responsible for overflowing Mighty’s wardrobe with enchanted black cowls and shorts. It was a stark contrast to the usual connections most people have with someone who embodies the shadows, the frightening darkness, the fear of the unknown. Because sometimes, it’s alright if you don’t understand something which is also Mighty’s thought process as to why a giant featureless goat head is nuzzling him.

“MMM… YOU SMELL GREAT TODAY, KITTEN. I DO HOPE YOU SHOWER AFTER YOUR EXERCISES AND ADVENTURES. I AM NOT TOO FOND OF SMELLY KITTIES. MAKE SURE TO USE YOUR VANILLA SHAMPOO, ALRIGHT?”

“I shower regularly, master. D-Do not worry…”

“GOOD. WELL, NOW THAT I HAVE CHERISHED MY CHAMPION, IT IS TIME TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. YOU SEE, MY KITTY, IT SEEMS THAT A THORN IN MY SIDE HAS RESURFACED. AS YOU KNOW, ELEMENTAL GODS LIKE ME HAVE SPIRITUAL SERVANTS THAT USUALLY TAKE THE FORM OF ANIMALS. AN EXAMPLE ARE FIRE ELEMENTALS IN THE SHAPE OF FOXES OR WIND ELEMENTALS IN THE SHAPE OF DRAGONS. THEY KEEP SACRED GROUNDS SAFE AND HELP TRAVELERS FROM TIME TO TIME. HOWEVER, ONE OF MY UNRULY SERVANTS HAS SHOWN THEMSELVES AGAIN, AND I NEED YOU TO SUBDUE THEM, TO SHOW THEM THE AUTHORITY I HOLD.”

“Where can I find them, my master?”

“IN A TAINTED FOREST, NORTHEAST OF THE CAPITAL. BEWARE, HE LIKES TO RELISH HIS PREY BEFORE SNUFFING BREAKING THEIR WILLS AND RETURNING THEM TO CIVILIZATION AS HUSKS OF THEIR FORMER SELVES. AFTER YOU SUBDUE THIS THORN, I ALSO REQUEST YOU TO FIND THE PEOPLE THEY HAD HURT.”

“It will be done, my master.”

“BUT BEFORE YOU GO, YOU NEED… PROPER PROTECTION…”

Tracing a giant claw over Mighty’s muscly abdomen, the god imprints an intricate magic tattoo that fills Mighty with a tingling warmth.

“What is this, my master?”

“THE THORN WILL MOST LIKELY DRAIN YOU OF YOUR MAGIC THROUGH EJACULATION. THIS MARK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM HAVING ORGASMS TO COMBAT THIS. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO LIFT THIS SPELL. HOWEVER, YOU MUST NEVER DO SO UNTIL YOUR FIGHT IS OVER.”

“Yes, my master.”

“LASTLY, SEEK OUT OUR HOLY BROTHERS, AND BORROW A HOLY BOOK. IN CASE YOU ARE STRUGGLING, CHANNEL YOUR ENERGY INTO THE BOOK. IT IS THE OF THE THORN FOR HE IS A CREATURE OF PURE DARKNESS, JUST LIKE ME. NOW, GO FORTH, MY SHADOW-TOUCHED CHILD. DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME, OR I WILL NEVER SEW YOU NEW CLOTHES AGAIN.”

“Y-Yes, master. (I feel like a child getting ordered by my mom…)”

Once the brand was applied, the Shadow God set Mighty down before promptly disappearing. Then, in the blink of an eye, Mighty woke up to the setting sun along with the candles had melted and dripped wax all over his table. But that mess could wait. Right now, what was important was to prepare to subdue this unruly Shadow Elemental to keep the surrounding area safe. Now, taking the god’s advice, Mighty left for the capital’s cathedral to borrow perhaps or buy a bible. Being a shadow magic user, Mighty feels a little dizzy being around the cathedral due to its blessed grounds.

Luckily, since he was still a mortal, it weakened his powers at most, but it wasn’t so intense that he’d be unable to walk. Mighty quickly approached a nun, then a brother, then a priest, and explained his intentions. Unfortunately, bibles found in libraries were not blessed so Mighty had to get an authentic one from the church. It was very strange for someone like Mighty to be at a church and even unsettled some closed-minded old ladies into whispering curses. One even tried to tell on Mighty to a nun, only to find out that church was also on Mighty’s side, gifting the cat their very own blessed pocket bible.

With the emergency trump card secured, Mighty made his way to the carriage station outside the capital and headed northeast to find the tainted forest. Ever since the town of highly intelligent purple slime beasts propped up, the quality of life has increased around the Central Continent thanks to their collaboration with other scientific and inventive minds. One of the revolutionary inventions of the modern magical scientific community was the use of magical engines to draw carriages. Of course, in some parts of the world where this kind of technology had not been introduced yet, they still used horse-drawn carriages.

Mighty would be taking one of these magical carriages, and along with the need for horses eliminated, they were also quite fast. And thanks to the brick-paved road that led to the capital, the trip to the tainted forest was even faster. However, once Mighty had gotten far enough away, the magic carriage service and the brick road ended, and he was back to taking horse-drawn carriages. If Mighty was some entitled brat then he probably would have complained about the speed and bumpiness. But being a humble cat, Mighty endured and appreciated how much time normal carriages gave him to chat with others.

“Alright, this is the town closest to that tainted forest. And by closest I mean kilometers away. I'm surprised I haven't heard of this problem. Maybe this unruly elemental appeared very recently? If so, the Shadow God must have known when it would appear."

Now at the last town before the tainted forest, Mighty stocks up on supplies before heading out. As the sun sets, Mighty couldn't help but wonder what kind of trouble would greet him. Having studied different magical creatures, elemental spirits usually took the form of either an animal or a person. They could be a beast or a human, and most of the time they would play tricks on those they encounter. Some were playful while some were dangerous, most notably the one Mighty was sent to correct. But Mighty wasn't worried. Besides, he is an Elemental Paragon, someone who wields the powers of gods to bring peace to the world. There's no way someone like Mighty could lose, right?

“Woah, take a look at this! The ground, trees, and leaves are all black! I must be getting close! And despite it being a full moon out, it's still insanely dark!"

A few hours later, Mighty arrives at his destination, and once he is there, Might sees that the tainted forest is like no other. It was as if the essence of shadow magic had touched the place. The forest radiated dread and the moonlight barely reflected off the pure black flora. Mighty had also read something about magic-touched biomes and how they were made which was usually due to the influence of an elemental spirit. From the safest to most dangerous, a water-touched biome was the tamest while a thunder-touched biome was the most dangerous. The shadow-touched forest was somewhere on the lower level of the scale. However, it didn't mean that whatever spirit resided inside them wasn't dangerous.

The white cat knew that very well, as they had a similar encounter with an earth-touched hill with protruding giant spires of stone and an earth elemental in the shape of a mole. Luckily, Mighty was able to resolve that problem peacefully, but he wasn't so sure about the shadow elemental he was about to tackle. Still, Mighty did not waver despite the unavoidable conflict and continued to wander.

“My torch barely does its job… Damn! I almost tripped!”

With a bright and blazing torch in hand, Mighty began his search for the elemental. For the first few minutes, he was already able to find some traces of the creature. It wasn't their magic signature. Rather, it was a pile of discarded belongings. Swords, staves, helmets, and armor plates were strewn about in an open area. Looking around, trees were bent downwards in a circular fashion. There must have been a fight where Mighty found the equipment, a very destructive one too. But no matter how hard Mighty searched, even after burning through three torch sticks, he couldn't find a single trace of spiritual energy.

“What if I just wait for this spirit to come to me? I wouldn't want to tire myself out looking for it and then get defeated because of exhaustion…”

Feeling stumped about how he should find the spirit, Mighty sat down in the middle of the scarred ground where he found the discarded equipment and lit a fire with the shadowy sticks around him. It somehow caught on fire like normal, allowing Mighty to warm up and rest and wait for the spirit to find him instead. But even after hours passed, there was no sign of the spirit. Mighty was beginning to lose hope. The Shadow God had been accurate with his information before, but perhaps this was the first time they slipped? “No way”, Mighty reminded himself, but there was still no sign of any magical life. Looking at the moon, Mighty realizes that it's already midnight and prepares to head out.

“Ow! What the– The wall is– Shit! I'm trapped!”

Without Mighty realizing it, the darkness around him solidified into walls. It was too hard to realize that it had happened, but it was also Mighty’s fault for not being attentive to his magic reading. The pitch-black wall before him immediately grew creepy eyes and tendrils that tried to ensnare him, but he deflected them away with his rapier. Mighty swiftly returns to his campfire but is extinguished when eyes and tendrils grow under his feet and kill the fire.

“Tch. The walls are too tall… And the moonlight barely helps… Come on, spirit, bring it on.”

After testing the walls with his rapier and finding it ineffective, Mighty stood his ground and waited for the spirit to show itself. And finally, after hours of waiting, it appeared. The dark walls and floor are swiftly peppered with giant eyes, all staring at Mighty. There were even some popping out of his feet which he promptly stomped out. Unfortunately, the eyes just close their dark eyelids before they are stomped out. Eventually, the shadow elemental presents itself to Mighty as a giant gooey blob of darkness with a singular black eye, horn, and an almost latex-like shine.

“There you are! I assume you must be the shadow elemental claiming the lives of adventurers!”

"Ohoho, claiming lives? I prefer the word… draining… And you, little morsel, are my next feast~”

"Not so fast, monster! In the name of the Shadow God, I shall subdue you and place you back onto the path of neutrality!”

"Really? I've never heard of a meal that declared such an interesting intent… The others usually have mewled their intents to be of monetary or glory… Hmm… You do feel a little off… I’m interested in studying you, morsel. Studying you in my belly, that is~”

"Like you'll ever! Bring it!”

"Since this will no doubt be your last, know that the name of your predator is Wisp, and you are my prey~!”

Preparing for the fight that was about to ensue, Mighty reached for his satchel to prepare his bible, his silver charm flailing and shining against the moonlight as he twisted his body to take a defensive stance with his rapier. Meanwhile, Wisp begins to grow to the size of a boulder, tentacles of darkness spreading from his body and the walls that surround them. Despite the advantage brought by the holy book, Mighty knew the fight wasn’t going to be easy as his abilities were neither effective nor weak against a being that embodiment that same element he used.

However, there was still the possibility to use his shadow as blasts of magic to cause physical damage. But after thinking about that method of attack, Mighty worried that Wisp’s seemingly amorphous body would resist it like most slimes when it came to blunt damage. And so the bible in Mighty’s left hand was the only effective method of attack but if he was to drop it, his only method of effective attack would be stripped from him. Lastly, there was still his life-stealing rapier, Erebus. As its ability implies, it saps the life force of those struck, specifically absorbing the magic energy that all life has.

Not only is it effective in extinguishing life but also dispels magic attacks, allowing Mighty to guard any shadowy strikes that wisp threw in his way. With all these factors combined, Mighty only had two ways to take down Wisp, and he was a bit hesitant. What is impressive is how fast Mighty thought of all of these possibilities. The time it took for him to reach his hand into his bag to get the bible and raise his rapier was 0.5 seconds while also analyzing his attack options. Mighty was an experienced warrior, of course, and Wisp was about to learn that not all small and cute things can be belittled.

“Huff… Hiyah!”

“Hngh! Get ready, morsel!”

With a bulging of the veins in Mighty’s arm, he thrusts his rapier at Wisp, launching a bullet of darkness at the elemental. Wisp swiftly dodges despite his gargantuan form and retaliates with encroaching tentacles. Mighty then opens the bible to a page with a verse about protection, causing it to illuminate a light that causes the approaching tentacles to fizzle out. It was like a versatile tool in Mighty’s hands, allowing him to bring forth different kinds of blessings by simply channeling his magic energy into the book despite his affinity with darkness.

“Haha! So you have come prepared! I must admit, you were the second person to bring a holy item to fight me. The first was a cleric for a party that fell before me. For being the healer, he lasted twice as long as the fodder. Welp, in the end, I still sucked him dry~”

“Tch! Where are you victims now!”

“Do you really want to know?”

Taking the opportunity to taunt and possibly demotivate Mighty, Wisp unearths several dark orbs from the pitch-black ground. They seemed to be opaque at first, but the elemental raised them high, allowing the moonlight to permeate through them and reveal their contents. Inside the orbs were people suspended in a dark clear fluid while tentacles relentlessly worked their exterior and interior points of pleasure. Captured adventurers had their cocks milked and nipples played and pulled while their entire body was covered in viscous black goo. Strangely, there were no female victims as if the elemental had a specific craving for sperm.

“You bastard! How dare you parasitize these people!”

“How do you like my cum batteries? You’ll join them soon enough~ I just have to capture you first!”

The orbs that contained the captured adventurers sink into the dark ground before Wisp attacks once more. This time, the elemental materialized thick pillars of darkness to smash Mighty into a paste. Mighty defends with his bible but the mass and size of the pillars push him around despite his attempts to dispel them. Multiple pillars come from all angles which Might narrowly avoids. They barely zoom past him, even snagging on his satchel which causes Mighty to almost get turned into paste if he did not rip off the strap that held it onto his body.

“Bahaha! Impressive! Nice reflexes, morsel! Perhaps you can be elevated to a better position… a position as personal bitch~”

“Keep running your mouth, elemental! You have yet to lay a finger on me!”

“And so have you? Come on, paragon, show me what you’re made of!”

Another clash ensues, this time with Mighty closing the distance between Wisp and his shadowy tentacles and pillars. Now close up to the giant blob with a lone eyeball, Mighty thrusts his rapier in multiple succession. They only hit air, barely reaching Wisp as the elemental leaned back. At least, that’s what the elemental thought was until they found their eye perforated, straining and bleeding black goo. Mighty had focused the tip of his rapier with his shadow bullet technique which Wisp assumed the “fair” paragon would only use at a distance.

“Nggrrr!!! You little shit! That hurt!"

“Good! You're literally covered in weak spots!”

"I'm not letting this slide!”

Regenerating his wounds in the blink of a literal eye, Wisp immediately ups the ante and launches a terrifying assault of bat-shaped eyeballs with razor-sharp wings hurling at Mighty. The bat eyeballs materialized as a shadowy mass separated from Wisp, grouping into a giant swarm that threatened to cut Wisp into ribbons. Luckily, Might deflects and parries the onslaught of bat eyeballs with a mixture of his rapier and bible shield. But Wisp doesn't let up and immediately launches a follow-up attack which is to simply ram into Mighty. Mighty wouldn't be able to stop the giant eyeball by injuring it so he jumped out of the way, only to be caught off guard by the bat eyeballs that instead came from the shadowy ground directly, multiple of them slicing at his toned back using their sharp wings.

“Gah!”

“I got you now, little morsel! Your back should be covered in beautiful red marks from my wonderful pets!"

“It's just a scratch! Don't get too confident now!"

The wounds were indeed just a scratch thanks to Mighty's tough body, but they still hurt like hell as if multiple whips struck him on the back. Despite the surprise attack, Mighty was barely affected and took the opportunity to launch the next attack. Using his rapier, he traces a dark circle in front of him which follows his path as he dodges Wisp's incoming shadow tendrils and pillars. The special sigil is complete with a few more swipes of his fingers. From within the sigil, a massive black skeletal dragon head appeared, snaking around the battlefield before lunging at Wisp.

But Wisp also had a monstrous trick of his own and transformed into a cobra, meeting the dragon's fangs with a chokehold. Wisp, now a giant serpent, coiled around the skeletal dragon's long neck, not to suffocate it but to crush it. Mighty was surprised by the counter and tried to secure the skeletal dragon's attack by shooting out more shadow bullets from the tip of his rapier but was forced to dodge the sharp and blunt death from the tendrils and pillars that kept him on his toes. This would successfully allow Wisp to dispel the skeletal dragon by breaking its neck, transforming back into a dark blob with a big eyeball to confront Mighty.

“Not bad at all, morsel! You have expert knowledge of elemental construction! But how will you fare against something a bit simpler… A test of speed pe
